Our team collaborated with The Quad to evaluate a website proposal. The project deliverables consisted of three components: a transmittal letter, style guide, and final edited document. The goal was to utilize editing skills to evaluate this document’s clarity and improve its usability by providing feedback and implementing changes.
For this project, I collaborated with local non profits to write an application for funder support. I worked with Colorado Springs Food Rescue to compile information and create a professional and convincing RFP. This document required meticulous editing and perfect English to be suitable for submission. It was crucial that the application presented accurate information and adhered to strict grant-writing standards.
Our team was tasked with creating a fully functional manual for a Dell Optiplex 780 computer. This project was a collaboration with the DOD company L3 Harris to adapt their existing manual to both PDF and HTML outputs. The project presented the challenges of learning the Madcap software as well as utilizing structured authoring to organize the content. Our team maintained consistent collaboration to ensure the success of our manual.
This project involved interpreting a large data set that contained over 300,000 entries. The goal was to determine the current BIPOC (Black Indigenous People of Color) currently enrolled at UCCS. The data was collected from The Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System. This project required an advanced knowledge of visual design principles and the Microsoft Excel interface. In order to collect accurate data, an intuitive utilization of Microsoft Excel formulas was required.
This project was comprised of an expansive manual that entailed the branding standards for a mock company. Creating the visuals for this project required creativity, design thinking, an advanced understanding of color theory​​, and implementation of various visual design strategies. The challenges posed in this project were the creative strain of creating unique content and a proficiency in visual design software such as Procreate and Piktochart.
