Project Description
The goal of this project was to use Madcap software and structured authoring to create a user manual for a Dell computer. My team used Madcap Flare to create the documentation and Madcap Central to single source our content. To ensure a successful product, our team crafted a mind map using Coggle.it, a low-fidelity wireframe using Mockplus, and a strategy document in Microsoft Word.
Analysis
My team began the design process by crafting a persona for our potential user.

This persona allowed us to base our design thinking around a user and shape the content to their goals.
Through the use of Information Architecture, my team created a mind map to determine the organization structure and a wireframe to determine the navigation scheme of the final product.

By practicing design thinking, we were able to visualize the structure of our content and determine the best navigation scheme.

My team showed adaptability in learning how to operate the Madcap Flare interface. We had to troubleshoot issues regarding our TOC and pagination throughout the document.

This project allowed me to adapt to a new and unfamiliar type of software, allowing me to create a product that incorporated design thinking and information architecture.
